There are many factors in choosing the perfect shower tile and the shower design often dictate the type of tile that can or should be used. As an example, if you have a curved shower bench it means that you need to use a smaller tile. It might seem like an easy task. But remember that you need a tile that is suitable for floor and wall use.
First, think about how it feels; a slab feels great to sit on than the smaller tile and curved edge will feel nicer on the back of the legs. Plan to use slab that offers up a bullnose, or a radius edge for shower bench. Selecting mosaic tile carefully; pick a mosaic tile that offers at least 95% contact from the tile to the backer board. Glass is hard to work with because some clear glass tiles can show moisture trapped behind them and make it look so awful only after a few uses. So picking smaller colored glass is great; many glass tiles have directional arrows so they can be installed with the same orientation.
