French has style in spades. French style are really after is that particular modern-meets-traditional-meets-glam look; live in a beautiful building on the left bank, decorate with a mix of priceless antiques. Generally, you don’t see a lot of bold color on the walls of French style. It’s all about white; Parisian white sits just warm of center: picture a creamy white and an almost-imperceptible dose of pink.
Soaring ceiling, cornice, wall paneling and parquet floor is the most important elements of this style, and if you have some original features or epic proportions in your home, show them off. The French know the value of minimalism and aren’t afraid of empty space on the floor or walls, so embrace negative space because less is more. Move some of your older items around your space to see them in a new light or find some vintage pieces at a flea market, just go a little OTT. For the finishing touch, you need a touch of glitz; vintage chandelier, traditional gilded mirror, metallic coffee table or even golden skull : make sure something in the space grab the eye and reflects light around the space.
